Gucci's Lemonade

Alright, Alright, Alright...I have fallen to the hype! I kept hearing about "Lemonade" via. Facebook & this whole "BURR" movement. He's not the best lyricist of course but, man are his songs catchy. To be honest, I didn't like it at first until I heard the chorus. And then I heard it on the radio. It's amazing what diff. hearing a song on the radio makes!! I was jammin' in my car like crazy.

It'll work Gucci. It'll work.

BURR on I guess.

Would You Live Here?

I spotted this odd creation on Apartment Therapy. It's a white egg-shaped 'blob' that you can live in (meaning sleep, shower, and all the basics). I don't think I would ever settle for this but, it's cool to look at.

"The polyester skin 'blob VB3' is weird, wonderful and mobile, an experimental small space living solution created by architectural firm dmvA--"

Head over to Apartment Therapy for the entire post and more pictures!!

"Play Games If You Want Home Boi!"

This is an old video but, it's from Jermaine Dupri's You Tube Channel. Unlike most celebs, he actually up-dates his && edits the videos himself. If you have a few days (not, hours) you should watch his videos, b/c they are pure comedy.

But, for some reason I thought of this video today. It's a video of JD at a Taco Bell in Houston && it's hilarious b/c the dude taking his order had NO clue it was JD && demanded to be given a tip, not knowing who he was. Then they pull up & instead of taking the other car's orders (behind JD), he is telling everybody JD is at Taco Bell through his microphone...it's pretty funny.

*START VIDEO AT 3:40 MARK.

OMG, How many times did JD ask for that mild sauce though?! He was not paying any attention.

This video confirmed some things for me:

1. People really can't hear at a Drive-Thru.

2. Black people don't know how to act.

3. "When Kobe comes to town, he bring the stars!" LMAO!!

4. Black people really do not know how to act.

...hilarious :)

The Case of Five NBA Athlete Tattoos

5 tattoos that disturb me...

[1]//Name: DeShawn Stevenson (Washington Wizards)
I thought we'd start off with him since he's already lifting his chin for all to see. I don't understand his Abe Lincoln/5 dollar bill look at all. And then he chose the neck of all places.

[2]//Name: Kenyon Martin (Denver Nuggets)
Let's just say he loves his woman, Trina.

[3]//Name: Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards)
Although he does have a better tattoo, which can be viewed in the video to the right, this right here is a mess. I rather Gilbert write a poem about Obama, then result to putting these words on his fingers. And what's the deal with the almost gang-sign position of his fingers? I don't think I can believe in this Gilbert. Nah man. Good message but, try again next term.

[4]//Name: Jameer Nelson (Orlando Magic)
Jameer is a good player but, come on with this mess!!

[5]//Name: Udonis Haslem (Miami Heat)
This one is by far my favorite. This is a case when both Map Quest fails you, and the weather channel (note the sun designs spread all over the state) has left you to fend for yourself. Well, folks! From here it looks like it will be sunny in Tallahassee with a slight chance of what the heck were ya' thinking when you got this? This takes the whole "put on for my city" movement to another level! Try AGAIN!!

VERDICT: GUILTY!!

Sex & the City 2 [Movie Trailer]

(Hijacked from: All That's Fab)

"Get a first look at the official “Sex and the City 2” movie trailer! We’re so excited! They also use Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” in the clip as well."

Don't you love how Carrie made her entrance? She's such a freakin' lady!

Goodness, I can NOT wait until this comes out this May. I saw the first "Sex & the City" with my gurls (It's four us, altogether), and we had such a great time watching it. You can best believe we will be catching this one too!!

Humor Me, Bruh Man

You remember Bruh Man? From the fifth floor (w/ four fingers)? The one that never used the door & somehow always ended up in Martin's home via the window! Rain, sleet, or snow, Bruh Man was there "just chillin" as always, usually wearing something that belonged to Martin or that was extremely too tight for his body, and eating all the food!!

Check out Bruh Man's best clips.

Some tidbits:

[20 sec mark]//Martin: "Hold up, Hold up, Hold Up! No, you do not have on my sweater!"

Bruh Man: "Yea man it got a lil' cold in here, so I went in your closet & borrowed this."

[2:44]//Martin: Bruh Man. c'mon man it's not a good time, cmon now. Wassup?

Bruh Man: Just chillin. Lookin' for some jell-o.

Martin: Man c'mon. Get your Charlie Brown boots & roll out....Don't walk w/ the slow bob, Let's go man!

[5:50]//Martin: What are you doing here Bruh Man?

Bruh Man: Nothin. Just chillin, trying to get me this j-o-b-b.

[8:25]//Bruh Man: Yall just don't know how to eat. I'll scrap the mold right off and sure nuff have me a wish sandwich.

Martin: What's a wish sandwich?

Bruh Man: Wish I had some meat to go up on it!

Words of Encouragement

"If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place."~ Nora Roberts

so, let's make today a very productive one.
I hope everyone is well!!

The Big Bold Ring Trend

As of lately, I have become infatuated with big BOLD rings! It's cosmetic jewelry like this that can spice up any outfit!

Check out some of these pieces from Forever 21 (My Fav.), which can also be found online. The ring I'm wearing in the picture is actually from Charlotte Russe.

//[Flower Power]: Flowers & little sparkle never hurt anybody right?
I ADORE the... "Mega Flower Ring" in cream (Left).
This one would look perfect w/ a sheer polish for those days when you just want to feel girly.

//[Animalistic]: Dare to be different w/ this type of ring.
I LIKE the... "Rhinestone Panther Ring". It's definitely BOLD & different. This will def. give you that edge to pull off any classic black outfit w/ boots. ($5.80)

//[It's A Formal Affair]: You thought bow ties were just for men? Definitely not! Switch it up with these elegant pieces to make 'em look twice!!
I'm FEELIN' the... "Rina Rhinestone Bow Ring"(right). It's not too big and the slit designs adds a little extra, which I like!

//[In Living Color]: I love hues of green, blue, and purple b/c they look great on just about any skin tone. They are like gems :)
I WOULD ROCK BOTH the... "Broad Square Ring" (2nd;$5.80) & "Lacquer Shell Ring" (4th;$4.80). The square shape & the pebble look are dope!

//[Face it, && EmBRACE it]: I'm not a huge bracelet person. But, these pieces are too nice to pass up.
I WOULD ROCK the... "Embossed Stone Cuff" ($6.80) && would definitely pair it up w/ the ring above! I also LOVE the "Lacquer Wing Cuff Bracelet" ($5.80). It's exotic looking & would look great with the "Owl Face Ring" above ($5.80) in gold detail.

...So, as you can see there is a variety. Switch it up during the week.
Maybe you're feelin' Rihanna's album, HARD, extra hard && wanna rock it out...try a studded bracelet or an animal design.

Maybe you're going out on a date && want the perfect piece: try an elegant flower ring.

Whichever you choose, you're never too lose!

---until next time. :)

Nate Robinson + 41 Pts, No Biggie

This guy above moved me simply because up until Jan 1st he was being benched for 14 games over an incident that happened w/ his agent && trade rumours. But, when the Knicks played the Hawks (Jan 1st) all of a sudden he comes and plays his game and kills it! Alone, "In 38 minutes of run Robinson scored 41 points, dropped eight dimes, and grabbed six rebounds", leading his time in scoring to pull a 112-108 win over the Hawks.

Idk about you, but to say he was practically riding wood for a month, and he does this is AMAZING! In his interview after the game (which I caught on NBAtv), he told the reporters how he just kept staying focused & ready. In addition to thanking his family for believing in him, He spoke on how he kept running bleachers to stay fit, && that "down for what ever" mindset definitely did him well. [It's what the league expected Tracy Mcgrady to do but, that's another story for another blog.] You gotta stay ready man, && the opportunity will present it self. Nate is proof!

"I wanna thank God for this great game he knws I've been wait n! He answered my wishes ! Word aapp! " (Via's Nate's official twitter)

Don't Take It Personal...

Ok, when I get extremely bored, I like to go on Plinky, pick a few prompts, && answer.

Here I Go....Time to get a lil' personal :)

List your favorite alternatives to saying 'no.'
This is my favorite..."ummmhhmmmmmmmm nuhh" from my Wife & Kids [You have to watch the show to understand, lol.]

If you had to wear one color for the entire year, Which one would you pick?
Probably the color grey. I would say black but, I think that's a bit too much. Grey is just right.

Are you a MAC or a PC?
Definitely a PC, No question.

Name something that makes you wish you were a kid again?
When I think of my old Barbie Jeep && when school consisted of multiplication and recess.

You get to start a charity. What is it?
Oh joy b/c I really do want to start one eventually. I want to start a foundation for broken families, especially for the kids. I want them to be able to feel loved (b/c having parents divorce is a tough thing to process, I know) and I want them to continue to pursue their goals. I want to form a safe haven & place where they can be motivated and to continue living life...it will def. be in the works.

Offer a couple of money saving tips.
Why, I would love to ;) 1st off saving money isn't difficult to do, especially if you have money coming in on the regular but, this can also make it that much more difficult. It takes a focused mindset to plan ahead & you have to decide early what you TRULY want out of life. Once you figure that out, you save for that. I think one should have at least 2 accounts, one for spending and one for saving. When I was in HS, I would put 1/2 of my check into my savings & 1/2 into my checking/spending. Also, just because it's in your 'spending' account, doesn't mean "buy everything". Once again, it's all about choices. When you shop be realistic. Every time I go shopping the sales associate will try to get me to take advantage of a buy one (reg. price) + get one 1/2 off sale. But, I only get what I need to get. Yes, it may be a great sale but, you are still dishing out extra cash, just on a marked off product. Same thing in Footlocker. How many shoe cleaners, shoe stuffers, and socks do I really need?! That $2.99 adds up! So, to sum this up: Separate between what you want & what things you really need. Definitely treat yourself every now and then but, be wise about it.

What makes you tick?
People that are loud. People that HATE on each other.

Name something that's inappropriately named.
The "wife beater". Why oh why?!

During which decade of the 20th century do you wish you'd grown up?
The late 70's so I could've at least lived the 80's && experience the 90's 4real. I was born in 89(late Dec) so I would've got whip lash had I even taken a glimpse at the 80's && the 90's was cool but, I wish I was older to remember it all.

What store do you wish you had in your town?
Forever 21. Hands down. B/c I simple LOVE that store!!

--Done for now.

Prince, U've [STILL] Got The Look

I found this picture on Prince.org which is [apparently] his largest fan site, && he still has IT! Plus, the hair is always on point w/ him!

Prince can sing his behind off. You know that like I know that!! He is the definition of a true "artist's artist" w/ his ability to play a wide range of instruments...all of which he taught himself. I was a sucker for his music at a very early age. I'm embarrassed to say but, when I was younger, I thought he was Michael Jackson's father...not knowing they really actually weren't far apart in age. But, that was then. && now Prince, to me still can not be topped. His music can be a little "in your face" & downright odd in some instances ("Darling Nikki") but, he still has my vote!! I loved him in Purple Rain, & I can sing each and every song from the soundtrack. Besides "Beautiful Ones" still has my heart to this very day.

Every now & then I listen to this on my I-Tunes. Gotta love LIVE music!

//[Chaka Khan sings "Sweet Thing" while Prince plays for her. This IS music at it's finest.]

*sorry for the bad quality

As my mother would say, "This is grown folks music" but, Prince is timeless man.

Erykah Badu's EMEK Poster Art

For some reason, I've been on what I'd like to call an "Erykah Badu high" for the past week. && I came across these & wanted to share them. You may have seen them, but regardless, the message of female empowerment remains loud & clear.
All of these were created by the artist EMEK, who created these for her album, New Amerykah, as well as the back drop for her tours.
The amount of detail on each piece is incredible.

Visit his official site here for more incredible artwork.
Just beautiful.

"The Style's In The Message", as they would say...

---Yep. You read right, && read it again & again b/c these pieces done by the brand dangerousNegro speak for themselves.

Browsing a post done by Miss Dimplez here, "I got put on" to these designs.
&& You gotta love what they stand for, esp. the first one.

These two designs below are dope as well.
[24/7. 365]I can't count how many times I have said & heard that "Black History Month is EVERDAY". The top design reads exactly that!
[Takin' Over]I LOVE this so much! Check the fist in the center of the flag.
*Also notice the Eye of Horus[protection] && what looks like an ankh[life/balance] constructing the eye as well. Thanks to my Art History course, I recognize these Egyptian symbols. Dope shiii-!

My favorite of all the pieces was this shirt (below) that reads "Educated BLACK Woman"! In the words of 2Pac, "It's time to start makin' changes"...and this shirt is where WE should start.

The prices for these designs start as low as $18.00 and can be bought in wide a range of colorways & messages right
here at their on-line store.
The brand is dangerousNegro.
Get yours today && spread the word!!

This Tickles Me...

Everytime I see this picture, I laugh. EVERYTIME.

...It's the little things. :)
