"Try It Out" w/ Kandi Burruss [video]

Thanks to SFPL for the heads up! Kandi Burruss is featured in Big Bank Black's video, " Try It Out".

I was a little taken back at the overall message of the video, which was improving the way the lead girl looked b/c she had apparently "fallen off" in the looks department. The theme kind of reminds me of "Upgrade U" (Beyonce) but, a little more straight to the point as the lead girl shows up to the club in ATL looking dolled up w/ Kandi Burruss' crew....

Other than that---the video is cute && Kandi's swagg is at a high so, try it out & click play! :)

What's the BIG deal?

I want one now. A tattoo that is. I have been for some years but, I was #1: Never old enough, #2: Not serious about it, #3: Didn't have the money in addition to NOT being serious about it. But, now that I have lived 1/5 of a century on this great Earth, I am really considering it.

So here goes my story:

I want the "ankh" tattoo'd somewhere on my body, preferably somewhere that I can see easily. So, anything that requires a mirror such as my back isn't gonna work.

//[Why the ANKH?] I discovered the meaning of the ankh a year or so ago && it is an Egyptian symbol that means 'eternal life'....

"The Ankh Cross represents life (immortality) and death, male and female, balance. It can also represent zest, joy of life, and energy. It's closely related to the looped cross that can mean fertility and life."

*It looks similar to the regular cross but, is looped around the top.

...Anyways that's what I want.

//[Location?] As stated, I don't want a tattoo that I have to struggle to see. I want to be able to wake up in the morning and see it. So, I'm considering getting it done on my right hand on my 'ring' finger. When I was in middle school, I used to write things on my hand as a reminder to do something..."call such-and-such", "do this & that"...and now I want a symbol to remind me to simply "live life". In me describing this, you might not get the point of this tattoo but, that's fine. Because it's what I want and believe in that matters. I think a lot of times it's easy to lose sight of our blessings before us, such as life itself. We get stressed out and bothered my the smallest things and lose focus. And we need that reminder, or at least I do, to keep pushing on, && live life. There are other reasons that I could name why I want this specific tattoo but, that's the one that speaks to me the most. It's a creed we all have to live by.

I used to want a phoenix on my back to symbolize the obvious (rebirth, rejuvenation, etc) but, I'm not so sure anymore...simply because I don't think I will cherish it if it's on my back.

//[When?] I want to think this one through. A finger tattoo can easily be covered but, I don't want to rush and get it anywhere. I'm sure about what I want but, it's gonna take time altogether. Prob. when I hit the big 2-1, I will go && get it done. Until then I'll be thinking.

The TRUTH is...Erykah

Excuse me for one moment because I just have to let this out...

When we speak of "the truth", many thoughts come to mind. Paul Pierce. Honesty. Purity. Maybe even God. But, when I think of TRUTH in music, I can not, [You can not] over-look the talent that is Erykah Badu.

I'm sitting here, well, I have been sitting in this same spot for about 3 hours listening to Erykah Badu. And not even multiple songs....I have had one song on my mind all night long. "Otherside of the Game" was introduced to me by the music site, Pandora, which is similar to Yahoo Music but, a lot better IMO. Anyways, I have always been a fan of Badu. ALWAYS. She is such a beautiful spirit inside && outside, as you can see by the picture below. Her music speaks to me. It's real. It fails at nothing. It's limitless && speaks what is....truth. So, excuse me on this post...I'm just flowing with it....

I am ashamed to say that I don't own any of her albums but, that is soon to be changed. Baduizm & LIVE is that sh--!

[["Otherside of the Game"]]I'm just discovering the song && the video, which features Andre 3000 *mind you this video was shot in the late 90's.

[The song speaks on a dilemma that Badu is currently facing or thinking about at least. && the video, which I love, shows just that. She speaks on her becoming pregnant and the conflict of her boyfriend (Andre), stating in the chorus, "What you gonna do when they come for you/Work ain't honest but it pays the bills---". I love the colors and she looks flawless in it as well. Take a peek.]

* also who knew Badu had some serious dreads?? check the end of the video && see.

//Live version "Otherside of the Game"
[...I love live music. Feels like you're right there with her almost. Listen in.]

//Recent video of Erykah discussing her new album
[Can you spot Damon Dash??]

...this woman is IT. Her voice is undescribable. Sometimes I don't feel as bad that we've lost Lauryn Hill because we still have Erykah. && I have a feeling we will continue to hear from her for a long time to come.

---until next time.

SADE - "Soldier of Love"

When it comes to pure music...Music that hits your soul, and that you can just turn on because, you must look to Sade. Her sound is HERS, and when it comes on you know it. It's like Anita Baker, you can't miss her voice for nothing in this world, and SADE is the same.

SADE has been off the scene for a while...but, she has a new single, "Soldier of Love". And it's the same SADE we are all used to.

Go ahead. Vibe out && get your fixx:

ALBUM: FEBRUARY 8TH, 2010
*Thanks to Concreteloop for the heads up

Regina Kings' Beau, Malcom.

Regina King visited the set of Wendy Williams' show this week, and they were very secretive of her new boyfriend, although Wendy mentioned that he had been a previous guest. So, I thought of all the men that came through her set and Morris Chestnut came to mind. I 'GOOGLE' those two names, and nothing but, work related results pop up. Then I GOOGLE her name and his name pops up....Malcom Jamal Warner. The pics are everywhere. It's sad but, the internet is a very dangerous tool. Besides, Wendy spilled the beans by giving the little hint she did give.

I've always loved Regina's work and the way she seems to keep her cool. It seems like you know her on a personal level. But, by the looks of these pictures, they do look cute together though...I am not mad.

He's not just "Theo" anymore. That's for certain.

Rihanna goes "Hard" w/ Jeezy

"Where them bloggers at?....Where they at? Where they at? Where they at?" - Rihanna

I LOVE it!
