5 Things That 'make me happy'

5 THINGS THAT
'MAKE ME HAPPY'

1) A dope pair of shoes. I love the comfort of sneakers and flats. You can wear them EVERYDAY, no matter the weather. They come in a variety of colors and really express who you are.

2) A cute chic bag. Size is no worry here. Big bags are great for holding extra stuff from my lipgloss to my umbrella. Preferrably, I choose 'discount' bags, as I would say. I was never a 'label lover' when it came to bags. If it's cute, then I buy it. Cheapest bag to date : $4 at Old Navy.
3) Sweet smelling lotion or body spray. Right now 'Pure Seduction' (Victoria's Secret) is a definite must. It has a real airy smell to it. I love it!

4) Eyeshadow. No one said you had to have foundation, concealer, blush, and all that. Eyeshadow and a little gloss goes a long way. I use lots of types but my fav. right now is "High Intensity Pigments" by Loreal Paris. It comes with two vibrant colors and really brings out my eyes.

5) Last but not least, a great cd. Music can turn my entire attitude around. It doesn't matter if it's inspirational like Lupe Fiasco/Tupac or music to dance to, ie: Ciara/Soulja Boy. It always works. It's my life saver foreal!

Wooooow: "Lollipops, wrappers, and leather?"

I am listening to "Lollipop", Wayne's new single. And at first I was a little confused, i guess. It's different, yet like T-Pain with the voice machine sound. I just want to know how is he going to pull this song off for performances. The machine can't just follow you. But after a few listens and one peek at tha video, its a bumper. Even though Wayne lacks to use his lyrical talent and basically relies on the machine to work for him, i can see this being big (like all his other songs)...."call him so he can do it for you" muhaha!
"He's so sweet, it make u wanna lick the wrapper (rapper)" --- I don't know, you tell me!

[Rest In Peace to Static, who is featured on the song and video for "Lollipop"]
Oh and i had to go reminisce and look at the video for "Leather So Soft". Tha ballerinas and the lady doing sign language was just bout the random-est thing ever. In the words of Flavor Flav, "Wooooow!"

Life is ---

i was just sitting here, thinking of what life means to me. When i say life, i do mean life, as in not the definition. Life is ---like being stuck in traffic. It is congested at times but when the flow starts, everything is okay. And sometimes you get that yellow light, that risk, asking yourself "can i make it?" or "should i go", as oncoming traffic approaches. Life is like being stuck in traffic, i do get annoyed and often road rage. Those are times in life where you need an outlet for the stupidity of others or maybe it was a complete misunderstanding. Maybe the person in front of you slammed on breaks because they were unable to take on the challenge and took on too much too fast, ya feel me? Life is like that. Life is like being stuck in traffic, in it that it might not move for a while, you can be in the same position for years. Life is like being stuck in traffic but as soon as the green light shines, we become anxious to cross that road. "We want to make it", generally speaking. We become opportunists. That is what life means to me, atleast today.

Freedom of Speech

I just did a research paper on the 1st Amendment, which at first I was not thrilled to do at all. I started at 11 something, though i didn't actual start typing until 12:55 and here it is 3:13am and im finally done. Today i woke up an hour late for work because i was unaware that Daylight Savings time had already happened. I thought the change happened Sunday night but i was okay afterwards. im pooped! and ready for some sleep....zzzzzzzz!!!
---by tha way i freakin sacrificed watchin "The Wire" for this essay thing. If it were up to me and not my grades, it would have been an 1hr and 40 min. sit down with no break. But grades are more important now more than ever. (GIFT and the Curse) Just know that in the future "forget the 1st amendment, who cares?!" <--- i'll prob. regret this in the morning....but hey its my freedom of press....haha...Good night.

College Road Trip: Winthrop Day!

So, today my mother and I visited Winthrop University, one of my top choices for college, and I was pretty impressed. At first, I was a bit sketchy because I hadn't visited since I'm guessing when I was in 8th or 9th grade. And I was defintely NOT paying any attention. The people there were soo nice. No one shied away from giving whole answers and explaining thoroughly what really goes on ect, ect. We got to Winthrop nearly a half hour late because, we missed our exit and got lost once we found it. The auditorium was packed but luckily we squeezed ourselves into two seats near the back. Once we sat nerly ten minutes later everyone was being dismissed to start tours categorized by majors (I am a future biology major) and boy did that take 4ever. So, we toured the science labs, nothing too special. I've seen better at my high school. But its whatever. Next, we had lunch in this huge dining hall where they served corn on the cob, baked beans, potatoe salad, barbeque sandwhiches, and tea that literally tasted like water. lol! But, afterwards we went into the recreational center with a rock climbing wall, snacks, a pool, athletic equipment, and more. We even got a free t-shirt, once we filled out our evaluation sheet on the university itself. Next, it was off to a financial aid lecture for half an hour, let's just say I almost fell asleep. grants -loans-fafsa...thats all i heard over and over and over. By then i was ready to get a peek at the dorms. I was a lil taken aback by it but hey its a dorm, what do u expect? The bathroom is shared by others on the floor. And the bathrooms have two showers and two stalls but the floor is really small, so it would be like 4 girls to one shower or something like that. But the shower could've been cleaner....i will be wearing flip flops no doubt if i go there. The dorms looked better when they were decorated. The first one we were shown was like ehh! But the 2nd one was cute in pink and a rug and it was a loft style. Some of the doors were decorated in chalk, pictures, boards, shoot u name it, and they had it up there. i can't wait...idk i just like dorkky stuff like that. But there was a lounge and a very small study room, i mean if u breathe you might hurt somebody...as i was getting ready to leave this group of gurls asked my mom and i if we had any questions. of course it was 58 degrees, prob. colder and we were ready to go. But i asked "What do you guys do on the weekends?" (because Winthrop is known as a suitcase school, meaning every one goes home on the weekends) and they reassured me that the school is working on having more activities on the weekends that keep the interests of their students. They even recommended some nice food places, all of which i can't recall anymore. But they were cool, so i think Winthrop might be tha right place. I won't be totally convinced until i visit Coastal Carolina University again....after all i cant go on a wim with this process. i will be living at one of these colleges for 4 years, living, not just attending but living there 24/7...so i have to make sure im making the right decision....2day was a good day tho!!! regardless of the weather...GO EAGLES/ OR CHANTS!?

Raheem Devaughn - "Customer"

I love this song ever since I heard it on the radio a while a go. So, I'm so happy he released a video! Whoo hoo. This guy's voice is amazing and I love the way he portrays women in a positive light. Well this song shows Raheem's take on satisfying a women by "serving her up---with loving on the side". For the record, this is no ordinary take out. If this suits your tastes, listen to "You", "Ask Yourself" & "Empty". He is just incredible, simply put.

-determine if our prom is gon be wack as last year!

okay back to a more focused mind state:
I'm so ready to graduate and a lil shock'd that I made it this far. I mean i knew i would make it but it came so fast. It's my senior year and i graduate June 3, 2008. It's just crazy to say the veryy least. I got into all three colleges i apllied to and i am very satisfied in life. I am also learning alot about myself. Learning independence and the significance of it because when i got to college, esp. Winthrop which by the way, my best friend isnt going, i will have to resurface and make new all over again. But thats apart of life. I have also been getting into makeup, it was on point today. I know i sound like a dorkk but, its true. I got my very own foundation yesterday..M.A.C makeup. the bill was ridiculous when i got everything i needed. but I've been growing thats all.
signing off...D.House
