Nostalgic Saturday: Now Behold the Lamb [Chop]??

Ok, I've been sooo busy tryin' to get ready for school that I've been slackin' lately. Almost, skipped NS this week but, thankfully I had an idea planned ahead of time :)

The more recent topics of "Nostalgic Saturday" haven't necessarily been true to it's name. Last Saturday's post on The Cosby Show wasn't necessarily that far back. For God sake they still play re-runs. So this week I had to take you back just a little bit. [[&& Don't act like you don't know where I'm comin' from w/ this one either.]]

[I re-introduce to you, Lamb Chop!] You know, the cute little sheep puppet w/ attitude! I can't front like I didn't watch that show when I was just a little tyke. I remember the song that never ended. Literally, it was called "The Song That Never Ends" & I refuse to post it! It will bring back that annoying ringing all over again in your ears. But, of course you're free to Google it.

I got the idea of Lamb Chop for this week due to a friend [wink, wink] who ingeniously has a Lamp Chop puppet && took a cute picture w/ it.

Reminisce w/ me. [Of course I'm not gonna bore you. I found a funny clip of Lamp Chop on The Nanny, which actually re-aired last week. Honestly, I laughed at Lamb Chop in this one. She got a lil' raunchy over the years, lol. Flirting && actin' a fool. && her reaction to someone wearin' a fur jacket was PRICELESS!! *Lamb Chop's clip is over at the 2:35 min. mark.]

&& for the ones who really loved Lamb Chop. Here's an actual old clip from the show.

[Watch how Lamb Chop cons her way out of eating her dessert...too cute :)]

Was it just me or did Lamb Chop seem a little off [like, drunken off] when she spoke?? Maybe, that's how she was created to sound. Either way she was funny 2 me!!

Nostalgic Saturday: "The Cosby Show"

Feelin' good, so I decided to hit ya' with a double take of 'Nostalgic Saturday'. It was bound to happen since, I love this show! I'm talking about 'The Cosby Show'. A show that inspired me to become a Doctor. Then Ob/gyn, now Dermatologist. It wasn't too often that we saw a successful African-American family that went through real problems w/ the rest of them. So, sit back && enjoy this post for all of you that loved this show, b/c I'm having a blast just posting this.

What do you remember most about the Cosby Show? For me, it was all the antics of none other than Dr. Cliff Huxtable. For him to be a grown man, a father, && a doctor, he sure had his share of tricks. I can't even count how many times he got caught by Claire b/c he snuck and ate a bag of chips, dessert, or broke something in the house.

CHOCOLATE CAKE & CLIFF///Ha, remember when he got caught eating Claire's freshly baked chocolate cake && tried to blame it on sweet lil' Olivia? Priceless, I'll tell ya.///

I mean, how are you really going to stuff a cake w/ a paper towel. Seriously?!

THE DUMBEST THING///Next, whenever I think of "The Cosby Show", I think of all of the catch phrases, which mostly came from Cliff again. Favorite to date [to Theo]: "That's the dumbest thing I've everr heard in my life. It's no wonder why you get D's in everything!" [I was rolling off that!] && every time Theo said something stupid like that, he said it again! *Check it at around the 2:50 mark.///

'NESSA'S WILD NITE///Oh, & who could 4get the night Vanessa went to a concert in Brooklyn && her tickets got stolen so she couldn't even see 'The Wretched' perform. Claire was too heated! She reminded me of my mom. You know how you try to say something back, after your parents clearly ask you a question, && they tell you "Did I tell you, you could speak?". That pretty much sums up this clip. Check Cliff's face too. He doesn't even bother to compete w/ Claire's "rage", LOL. Reminisce here (lil' over 2min.). [make sure to open in a new window]///

GETTIN' KNOCKD' UP///Remember, that bad dream Cliff had...about him, Theo, && Martin being pregnant? Yes, pregnant!! && the funny thing was they weren't having babies but, silly things. You know hoagies, & cars & boats oh my! Reminisce here (less than 2min). [make sure to open in a new window]///

A few flixs that may stir up some memories:

[Who ever designed Theo's shirt [Denise] deserved to be shot!]

[One word{in Rudy's voice}: Bud!!]
[Wimp. He always ran out on every scene.]

[Rudy holding Cliff's nose to make the proper 'Big Bad Wolf' sound.]

[That pregnant scene I was talking about earlier, this is it. Funny!]
[I CRINGE @ just the sight of this pic b/c Vanessa couldn't play one lick of that Clarinet!]

[Some of the cast of "The Cosby Show" at the reunion on The Today Show earlier this year.]

....okay, I'm all Nostalgic'd out for now [I know, it's not a word]. I hope you enjoyed that.

What were some of your favorite episodes/scenes/catch-phrases from the show? [Lemme hear it.]

Nostalgic Saturday: What were some of your first cds?

I'm listening to Sammie's first cd. It came out in 2000. Amazingly, I still have all of my cds && in good condition, except for the cd booklet [those are worn out!]. The majority of my cds, when I was younger, were R&B albums. Some of them include: [* soundtrack]

Monica - The Boy Is Mine

Christina Aguilera - Christina Aguilera

Montell Jordan - This Is How We Do It

Sammie - From The Bottom To The Top
featured song, "I Like It" -->
-I remember everyone used to request this song at the Skating Rink.

Bow Wow - Puppy Love

Various Artists - All That The Album*

Aaliyah & various artists - Romeo Must Die * [own all of Aaliyah's]
3LW - 3LW

Destiny's Child - Writings On The Wall [own them all]

TLC - Crazy, Sexy, Cool [own them all]
featured song, "Waterfalls" -->

Nelly - Country Grammer

...As you can see, Hip-Hop was virtually non-existent in my life until I got into middle school.

Hip-Hop is mostly my collection now.

So, tell me, no matter how embarrasing they may seem, what were some of your earliest cds?

[don't just read && leave me hanging, I want to know.]

Nostalgic Saturday: The House Party Edition

You didn't have a childhood if you didn't watch all of the House Party movies. Even though they kind of ran out on the last one [House Party4] w/ IMX, I still love them all. This is where the 90's came to life. I mean you have Kid 'N Play, Teisha Campbell [Gina from Martin], Martin, Bernie Mac, TLC, Immature...so many people! Too bad House Parties like these don't really exist!

Reminisce with me:

[House Party 2 - Dance scene w/ Kid 'N Play] Remember the dance Kid 'N Play did, that everyone copied & still do today? Reminisce at the 1:18 mark.

[House Party 3 - Funny dinner scene w/ Bernie Mac] This is EXACTLY why you don't bring just anyone to dinner. They will tell all your business & more!

[House Party 3 - Ex-Con Catering] Ezal from Friday is in this clip. Need I say more? But, I did laugh my butt off though.

[House Party 3 - w/ TLC & Immature performing] I adore TLC & Immature was soo young!

Remember the bright colored clothes & how Kriss Kross convinced people to wear their clothes backwards? I remember I use think I was 'All That!' as I wore thick scrunchies in my hair & my jumpers [overalls] with one strap hanging down. Instead of Facebook, recess was our social network. Dirt was our best friend [Ok, not like that!] && fortune tellers told our future.
How were you in the 90s?

Nostalgic Saturday: My Brother and Me - 'Hit Me!'

Everyone calls it "Throwback Thursday" but, I'm calling it Nostalgic Saturday. After all no one really thinks of Thursday when they think of throwbacks [At least I don't]. I think of waking up on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons or to go skating with friends. So, I'm scrapping the term "Throwback Thursdays".

Let's reminisce:

If you were a big Nickelodeon fan like I was, then you know about 'My Brother and Me'. Most importantly, you know about Goo punch and the infamous 'Hit me!' phrase. Well here's that episode [part 2] when Dee-Dee got bullied. What shocked everyone was that the bully that hit 'em was a girl! *
Check Amanda Diva around the 5 minute mark. I didn't realize that was her until now. [Her character talked waaaay 2 much!]

"Tuff guys don't care about grammer, okay!" - Alfie

"Hit me! You suppose to be so bad!" - Dee Dee

[Too bad, I can't find the part where Alfie gets beat up too!]
