Amerie f/ Lil Wayne - "Heard Em All" (Remix)

I like Amerie's sound & flavor she brings to the game! It baffles me that she isn't where she used to be, which would be at the top!. It seems like "1 Thing" came & went, and so did her music career. Though her latest single "Why R U" is dope & makin' moves, I still feel that Amerie hasn't got back to her domain yet. But, you know like I know that she has the potential!
Concreteloop brought to my attention "Heard Em All" (Remix) f/ Weezy, which had me from the start of the song. It's really up-beat & I love it!! Wayne starts off rapping his verse, almost long enough to where you think it's HIS song. Then Amerie comes in on the beat so sassy. The drums are 'Full Effect' in this one, as they always are with Amerie!! She always does her, which I admire.

Listen/Download "Heard Of Me" (Remix) here.

Thoughts on the song?

Tracy Mcgrady - Recovery Part Two

This man is goin' HARD for his recovery. When I say HARD I mean that in every syllable, semantic meaning, && sound of the word [Every sense, in other words]. I already have a huge crush on Tracy as it is but, when I see him working like this to get better than he already was...whoo. Man, there are just NO words.

If your not up-to-date w/ Tracy & his past history, then let me explain: He had to get both knee [February] & shoulder [May] surgery causing him to sit out towards the end of the season [End of the season = NBA Playoffs/Finals <---which he couldn't play in]. && according to him he should have not played at all b/c of his injuries. But, now that surgery is all over w/ he is gettin' prepared [in Chi Town] to come back. His goal isn't just to come back into a Houston uniform but, to be BETTER than he was before. && by the looks of this video, w/ all of this conditioning, he is going in the right direction. [[Plus, he looks good while doin' it too!!]]

"It was a bad year last year...I should've sat my a-- down but, me tryin' to get out there...just backfired on me...Y'all stay tuned b/c I'm workin' hard & I will be right." - T-Mac

The last couple min. of this clip goes is what truly got me. I'm [BEYOND] ready for the season to c'mon man!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL JACKSON!!!

I woke up this morning && had to do it. So, Happy Birthday Michael Jackson. Though, I'm a "late bloomer" && just really got into his music, I can say that I've seen 'the light' to his music, so to speak. A v-jay on the radio this morning said he was "one of the best". I beg to differ because, Michael was THE BEST! No if, ands, or buts about...he was! Today, I also went out & bought his most successful album, Thriller (25 Anniversary Edition). Even though, I knew the majority of the songs [except one], I had to buy it. I mean for God sake "Human Nature", "Lady In My Life", && "P.Y.T" all one ONE album && it's not the greatest hits!! BTW, did you know Thriller sold over 110 Million albums? && the runner up isn't even close! [Who am I kiddin, of course you knew!]

Today is a day of tribute to the BEST who ever did it.

//John Mayer's rendition of "Human Nature" at MJ's memorial service [Just beautiful artistically.]//

Did you know Michael could draw as well? There is word that his drawings will be published & have been in the works even before his passing. This one in particular is from the Thriller album. It looks like Paul McCartney & Michael tugging at a woman to represent their song, "The Girl Is Mine" [<---That's the one song, I didn't know about.]

//Michael had a sense of humor. [FYI: There will be no sappy stuff 2day, atleast on here, no sir :)] He could be hilarious when he wanted to.//

[He talked about how he went through "hell on tour", his love of super-soakers, && even calls the camera guy a "dimwit" for zooming all in his face @ 4:53. LOL at "How close are you---can you see chest?". && I'm mad they kept pushing him into the pool too even after he washed up again! Funny stuff!]

//Ok, here's one of MJ in the car dancing to R.Kelly's "Ignition". I have watched this over and over && it never gets old. [Shoot, he better get it in that car!!!]//

After his passing, Michael's face has been on every magazine imaginable. But, more recently his face has graced the cover of GQ, which has stirred up some controversy due to the quote "When Michael Jackson was cool". [I'm kinda givin' the side eye to that myself]

But, here are some other magazine covers Michael has graced, which are also great!

I love you && your music. May you live in our hearts forever.

If I Was Letoya, I'd 'REGRET' It Too

I'm sure Letoya's sophomore album, Lady Love, which dropped in stores yesterday [8-25-9] is a CERTIFIED hit! I previewed the album a few weeks back & it sounded decent but, as a college student I might have to wait till I 'really-really' like the joint first.

Anyways, prior to the album being released, I heard Letoya's new single "Regret" f/ Luda on the radio [Where has he been? He needs to c'mon w/ that album!!] && the song is decent. I honestly can't really knock it but, it's just that the production of the song sounds of screams two things: "God In Me" [Mary Mary] & "I Love Your Girl" [The Dream]. Ok, this is what I need for you to do: Go listen to those two songs 1st && then Letoya's and tell me I'm not the only one that hears the similarity. It sounds like a recycled "it-worked-for-other-artists-it-will-do-wonders-for-you" type of beat. She should have caught onto that definitely.

Go ahead, listen:

ALBUM IN STORES NOW!!! **But, if you're a college student, heck any type of student, we just gone have to wait! No biggie. :)

Fashion Reaches the 'Sky'

These two ladies below, do you know 'em?

You probably don't remember them [by these semi-NEW pics] but, it's Nina Sky! You know... the duo that sung "Move Ya' Body" back in 2004. Well since then, these ladies have amped up their look && turned it up a few notches. I have been spotting them 'here & there' lately && I have to admit I digg their style. It's a lot of pics but, I seriously couldn't narrow it down anymore. They are just 2 STYLISH!! *all pics are taken from Nina Sky's Official Myspace page.

//STANDIN' OUT//

[I love the abstract white dress & metallic boots on the right. Stilleto boots are FIERCE if you don't know!]

//BACK 2 THA BASICS//

[It seems like the basic tee & skirt is becoming the new 'jeans & basic white tee' combination. I see a lot of people rocking similar outfits like this now. It's very simple, yet chic.]

//LITTLE BLACK CORSET && A VISIT 2 THA DOC//

[Ok, corsets can make you look BOMB if done properly, as it is done here. && check the brown boots on the right that are rocked w/ the tongue down. Looks like some good 'ol Doc Martens to me. I'm jealous, once again!!]

//PRINTS ANYONE?//

[Nina Sky showin' you prints can be more than "Flower Power", as bold patterns & colors work just fine! Also, their belts around the waist are stylish & accentuates the waist quite well.]

//NINA'S CUTE & CASUAL//

[If you read this blog, you kno I'm ON my 'Cute & Casual' tip! Especially when it comes to skinny jeans. I have countless pairs of skinny jeans, they're amazing, really :) IMO, They are best worn w/ a "big flowy" top. It looks weird to have both a tight shirt & fitted jeans so, mis-matching it like this adds dimension to the outfit as a whole. [Atleast, in my case] So, I LOVE both their tops & jeans. Perfect Look!]

//FIERCE & FLYY//

[I envy this picture b/c they look so dope. You can never go wrong w/ Black & White photography. It's so classic & timeless.]

FYI: Nina Sky's new album Starting Today is supposed to hit sometime this year. Check out some of their new music: [These are also featured on their Myspace page] * Allow songs to load
