The Respect Issue

Today I had a little run in w/ someone. It wasn't a brawl [oh no!] but, a verbal dispute, as I would call it.

What about you ask? Respect!

Ok, anndd... Well, if you don't know me by now, know that I could care less what you think of me.

Really, I don't care. I'm not losing sleep over any one's personal derogatory thoughts. They're yours, and you are entitled to them. But, you will RESPECT me! You will at least ACT like you have active brain cells & the intelligence to not resort to ignorance. You will treat me as your EQUAL, not your sidekick or the butt of all your jokes. I'm not a game. I don't expected to be played around with like a frivolous child-like thing. That's not me & never will be.

You see, I don't know what EARTH you think this is but, 'round here [where I'm at] women don't play that. But I guess [immature] grown men do. Get it together!

I had to kinda set something straight because I swear some of these young boys don't know how to treat a lady, let alone talk to one. & for one, NOBODY is going to disrespect me because, they feel they can. RESPECT is not an emotional thing. It's not dependent on your mood. Respect is never-ending, not condescending [similar to your antics]. It's not a 'now or later-I'll give it to ya when i think so' type of thing. Nah brother, it ain't that.

It's an every day thing. It's of the Time. && It will be given. [believe that.]

I've been on Trey for a minute. Ever since his first song came out I have loved this dude. Shoot, I even remember when I first saw "Just Gotta Make It", his 1st single w/ Twista. He came out with a hott song a & has been soaring higher everr since. He really has distinguished his own lane in the genre of R&B. There aren't many R&B singers that have both the ladies & the fellas holdin him down. [I mean you tell me.]

From cornrows to cutting them off, he has matured & his music is getting better & sexier if you ask me! The man can sang you hear me?!

With two [great] albums albums under his belt, it's almost that time for his third album. This Fall he plans to drop "Ready". And if you are a die hard T.Songz or an occasional listener, I'm sure you've heard Trey ad-lib "You ready?" on many of his mixtape songz/features.

Recently, he released his mixtape properly named "Anticipation" [pictured below], which I'm guessing is to hold everyone over until the actual album drops. Honestly, all I've been hearing about is this mixtape & nothing else! People are going straight bananas over it.

Guess Who's Back && Comin Hard?!

New York has brought Hip-Hop a lot of great music. But Brooklyn?! Oh my God! I mean Biggie & Jay both hail from Brookyln. Not to mention Lil Kim, who IMO is still holdin it down for the ladies. But today one of Brookyln's Finest drops his fifth album or shall I say motion picture, as it is a concept album. Many artists have done a concept album. Even Jay tried it back in 2007 w/ the incredible "American Gangster". But today it's "Loso's Way" and as he would say it, "It's My Time".

Excuse me for not having this album already. Shame, shame on me because as I'm listening to it on Imeem, I'm seriously thinking that this is IT. This is going to be one of the best Hip-Hop albums of 2009 IMO. And what makes it even better is that "Throw It In The Bag" & "It's My Time", both of which are currently singles, aren't even the best songs on the album. [There is more!] A lot of times concept albums fall short, as if the artist is trying too hard to prove something but, that is not the case.

So far, on first listen "Feel Like I'm Back", "Salute", "Money Goes, Honey Stays" & of course "The Fabolous Life" are all hott! I have not skipped not ONE song yet.

I guess it's safe to conclude that he's really back and it's most definitely HIS time. Word.

I love Chrisette Michele. Her voice is amazing & her style is chic! She always looks like she's going out into town, very sophisticated.

[Ok. I'm not a big acrylic nail person myself so, I'm really diggin her nails. The bright color is so bold and the design adds a little flavor to it too. I love the big bold rings too! So fierce.]

Like casual movie date with a rapper rite?!". I agree this is another perfect example of cute casual. Who knew Chrisette wore Nikes??]

You Better Work!!!

I can't wait to start school this Fall. 1/2 of the reason is b/c I'll be a Sophomore & engaging in activities on campus & the other 1/2 is because of the fashionista I plan to reveal. [That would be me of course :) ]

I'm diggin a lot of celeb's sense of style. Both male & female. Shoot, the guys are holding it down too but, that's for later. These three ladies caught my attention. I love their music but, wow, can they pull together an outfit or what? I think so!

Okay, I saw this picture of Mary somewhere on-line [I can't recall where] and I automatically saved it as soon as I spotted it. I mean look at Mary! Is she doing IT or what? The fact that she is on stage with the stilettos [no doubt, she was dancing] killing the all black with the leather vest & gold jewelry?! C'Mon man! She better show 'em how it's done. Needless to say, I would so rock the entire fit [as it is!]

Next up is Miss Letoya Luckett who has a new album coming out soon. Her last [self-titled] album was bomb so, I might be inclined to cop the new one. But, this is a pic I saw on BVonStyle.com and this is so "cute casual". I love her vest too. I'm kinda getting into the long loose vests like that myself, and the black design just adds to everything. Her jeans & her heels are superr dope too. Love it!

On Concreteloop.com I spotted a gorgeous Lil Kim all dolled up for her birthday (July 11), which was said to have been in Miami. Now, she isn't rocking a pair of jeans but, she does look gorgeous in black herself. If you look at older posts you know I love her to death! She's Hip-Hop's black Barbie, at least in my eyes. Despite talks of her losing her beauty to plastic surgery I'm sure everybody agrees that she IS working this sheer corset cocktail dress! Hand on her hip & errthing, the lady is killin 'em too!
